 After writing a poem every day for National Poetry Month in April, I continued the momentum by turning some of the April poems into comics. I made it a goal to have finished inked pages by every Friday in May.  My goal was to explore the interplay between text and images. In doing so, I considered the way that drawings could add new layers of meaning to the text. Design choices such as gesture, composition, or color palette could emphasize characteristics of the text or further complicate it. It was also important to alter the text such as when the drawing could carry the meaning the text provided so I chose to forgo the text altogether. In the case of Untitled (oil rig) I changed the placement of the text to better flow with the new page the drawings added.
